E -Textiles or electronic textiles basically means putting electronics into textiles. The idea is to add LED’s and other components to light up your textile projects. This will also give it a wow factor. If you can sew a running stitch and tie a knot, you will be able to add LED’s to your work. You will be able to produce amazing projects – only your imagination stops you.
You will need to create a circuit for your project. This can be done quite simply by using a battery holder, CR2032 battery, conductive thread and a choice of LED lights. LED lights come in many colours and variations including flashing, static, multicoloured and sewable to name a few. The choice is usually made by the type of project you are making and how you want your final project to look. Therefore, planning is essential before you start any project. In the video we show you projects we have completed using a variety of LED’s that are best for the project undertaken.
