This soft switch skull key ring kit is a great easy way to start to learn e-textiles with this low cost kit.

The skull soft switch key ring kit uses conductive thread, LED lights, a CR1220 battery and a soft switch to enable the light to switch on and off. The soft switch works the same as a battery once pressed it will switch on and off.

The kit contains everything you need to create your own e-textile skull key ring (apart from scissors or pliers). The kit contains felt, adhesive felt, 2 LED’s, conductive thread, CR1220 battery, felt pad, embroidery thread, needle and stuffing. Colours of embroidery thread and felt will vary.

The junior soft switch monster kit uses conductive thread, LED lights, a CR1220 battery and a soft switch to enable the light to switch on and off.

Make your very own monster using our quality felt and e-textile components.

The kit contains everything you need to create your own e-textile monster (apart from scissors or pliers). The kit contains felt, adhesive felt, 2 LED’s, one metre of conductive thread, CR1220 battery, felt pad, embroidery thread, needle and stuffing.

This kit is also available as a class kit of 10 or 30 kits. Extra kits can be added or taken away to suit your needs just contact us with your requirements

MUSCLE WIRE (PACK OF 50)

Muscle wire is electronic wire which can expand or contract, ideal for smart textiles and model-making projects.

This pack includes 50 extension springs & 50 x 150mm Crimped Muscle Wire.

When a current passes through the muscle wire the composition of the wire changes which makes it contract. This movement can be increased by the use of levers etc to produce moving parts within models.
Muscle wire (also known as smart wire and nitinol wire) with crimped copper ring terminals
Fitted copper ring terminals make model making simple
Wires can easily be soldered on to the copper ring terminals
Muscle wire can be repeatedly used
Movement can also be controlled using a 555 timer circuit with a supply voltage of 4.5V, this allows the correct 3V to operate the muscle wire
Movement can also be controlled using PIC chips to activate and de-activate the muscle wire using the correct 3V supply.
