The tilt switch operates by a small metal ball that rolls up and down inside the black plastic casing, when the metal ball comes in connect with the metal legs a connection is made, this connection lights up the LED’s. So when the switch is tilted the ball rolls back and forward turning the LED’s on and off.

Generally used in small plush toys to turn the LED’s off when laid down, similar to the eyes shutting on old porcelain dolls.

Kits with tilt switch available in various LED colours.

Tilt switches are available to buy individually or in packs of 10.
