The skull soft switch key ring kit uses conductive thread, LED lights, a CR1220 battery and a soft switch to enable the light to switch on and off.  The soft switch works the same as a battery once pressed it will switch on and off.

The kit contains everything you need to create your own e-textile skull key ring (apart from scissors or pliers). The kit contains  felt, adhesive felt, 2 LED’s, conductive thread, CR1220 battery, felt pad, embroidery thread, needle and stuffing.  Colours of embroidery thread and felt will vary.

This Maderia conductive thread is ideal for introducing electronics into textile projects.  The thread looks and behaves like conventional sewing thread with the added bonus of being highly conductive. It is perfect for creating wearable electronics and e-textiles.

This high conductive thread is suitable to be used as either a top thread or under thread in your sewing machine. It is vital that there’re are no breaks in the conductive thread. Make sure the stitching does not make contact with any other stage in the circuit.   Your stitching should be done in parallel ensuring all positive terminals are connected to positive and negative terminals.

If the thread breaks or it is loosely stitched the area could lead to contact failure.  Strictly adhere to the wiring guidelines to ensure a successful circuit.  Test the stitched circuit prior to completing the finished project.

Resistance ratings are used to calculate voltage drop over a certain distance.  In basic terms this means a higher resistance means a dimmer LED built.  This is especially apparent when multiple LED’s are used over a long distance.

The resistance rating for Maderia HC thread are as follows
