SEWABLE TILT SWITCH

The tilt switch operates by a small metal ball that rolls up and down inside the black plastic casing, when the metal ball comes in connect with the metal legs a connection is made, this connection lights up the LED’s. So when the switch is tilted the ball rolls back and forward turning the LED’s on and off.

Generally used in small plush toys to turn the LED’s off when laid down, similar to the eyes shutting on old porcelain dolls.

Kits with tilt switch available in various LED colours.

Tilt switches are available to buy individually or in packs of 10.

E-TEXTILE SMART PHONE HOLDER KIT – CLASS PACK OF 30

E-textile smart phone holder class kit this is a KS3 textile and electronics project. The kit has conductive thread, textiles and LEDs to create a smart phone pouch. The components and materials for 30 kits are included in the pack. All kits are packed individually to help the teacher.

The smart phone holders are made from felt and adhesive backed felt. The smart phone holder uses 1 colour changing LED for a visual display. This LED is activated when the metal press stud is closed (Press stud acts as a switch turning the LED ON/OFF).

The smart phone holder can be easy altered to suit various items: phone, mp3 players etc.
KS3 design and make project aimed at year 8s so it is also suitable for lower ability Year 9s and higher ability year 7s
This smart material (conductive thread) connections can now be produced by a simple knot or sewing around the LEDs (Lights)
No soldering involved. The thread looks and behaves like conventional thread with the added bonus, that if the thread breaks the two ends can be tied together and it still works perfectly

E-TEXTILE PENCIL CASE KIT – CLASS PACK OF 30

E-textile pencil case kit. This is a class pack of 30 and is a KS3 textile and electronics project that uses conductive thread and electronic components to create a flashing LED pencil case. Each kit is packed individually to help the teacher.

The Flower pencil cases are made from felt and adhesive backed felt. The pencil case uses 2 flashing green LEDs for a visual display. These LEDs can be activated when the zip is closed (Zip acts as a switch turning the LEDs ON/OFF).

Large and small flower stencils are included in the class pack along with full instructions on cutting out all shapes.

E-textile gingerbread man kit class kit has 30 kits individually pack. Each kit contains conductive thread, an easy sew battery holder, battery, felt, 2 LED’s and a soft switch. The soft switch when pressed turns the lights ON, and when released, turns the lights off.

The kit has been specially designed to use very little electronics and is an easy introduction to e-textiles.

E-textile Camper Van Key Ring Kit class kit is a KS3 textile and electronics project.

The kit uses conductive thread and electronic components to create headlights (LEDs) that turn on once the soft switch, hidden in the window, is pressed. Each kit is individually made to make life easier for the teacher. Each kit works out less than £5 each saving £30 if the kits were purchased individually.
